Description
Letter from Montville Overseers of the Poor Regarding Susan Barnum, February 17, 1859 is a letter from the Montville Overseers of the Poor in response to the Cumberland Overseers of the Poor. The letter explains that Montville is not the legal settlement for the pauper Susan Barnum in their town and, in accordance with the Maine pauper laws, is not required to provide financial relief for Barnum.
