Description
Charles Gilmore writes from Grove Church in Fauquier County, Virginia, updating Adjutant General Hodsdon on status of regiment and requests promotions be made soon. Mentions that the 1st Division of the 5th Corps are camped on the Rappahannock River from Ellis Ford to Kelly's Ford, a front of nine miles, and that the 6th Maine and the 20th Maine are the only Maine regiments in that portion of the Army.
