Letter from John C. Chamberlain to General John L. Hodsdon describing his visit with ailing brother Joshua L. Chamberlain. John Chamberlain thanks Hodsdon for helping him to reach his brother and describes Chamberlain's condition, who was gravely wounded at Petersburg and not expected to survive.
