Description
"In account with each individual in the 23rd Maine Infantry" ... "an account of clothing during his enlistment; the money value of each item being hereby acknowledged."

This is one of four volumes of official records of the 23rd Maine Infantry owned by the Zadoc Long Free Library in Buckfield, Maine. All three are currently housed at the Maine State Library.
The 23rd Maine Infantry was organized in Portland, Maine and mustered in September 29, 1862 for nine months' service. The regiment left Maine for Washington, D.C., October 18. The 23rd Maine Infantry mustered out of service July 15, 1863.
