    Description

    After working at Moody's Shoe Store in Auburn for seven years, Leon Leonwood Bean, in 1911, invents what he calls the Maine hunting shoe. Within six years, Leon opens his own store in Freeport. He later adds hunting gear, and L.L.Bean and the Bean boot soon become known over the world.
