Description
Born in 1777 in Waterbury, Connecticut. Foote studied law in working at law firms in Concord and Camden. In 1811 he was appointed County Attorney of Lincoln County. He also served in the Massachusetts Senate in 1819, before becoming the first Attorney General of Maine, where he served until 1831. 1840 he was elected to the Maine House of Representative, for Wiscasset. Where he lived until his death in 1856.
