    Description

Postcard depicting the center of Wallagrass, including the "old church" and the convent, in the early years of the twentieth century.

The postcard, postmarked Plaisted, May 28, 1912, was addressed to Henry Gagné of Soldier Pond. The message is partially obscured; it reads in part: "Dear Brother, I was slow about writing to you. I got my [money?] all right and g... what you told . . . should. I am go... [page cut] chand me . . . pay and will . . . in coming . . . from Hector." It is unclear whether the letter was sent by Hector or whether that is the end of the last sentence. Henry Gagné also had a brother named Oliver.
