Description

Postcard featuring unidentified women standing next to Damase Gagnon's store in Wallagrass; an inscription on a postcard fragment in the same collection gives a date of 1914 or 1918. Damase Gagnon established his store in the early years of the twentieth century.

The postcard was mailed to Mrs. Henry Gagner [sic] [née Elsie Labonté] of Soldier Pond, with a postmark date of April 18, 1918. The note is signed "Ta mère. M. T. L." It states: "Je vais aller me promener . . . [illegible] dimanche s[']il fait beau on te [?] fera un picnic." Elsie Labonté's parents were Théophile and Zoé Labonté.
