Description
Annual report submitted to the citizens of Scarborough, Maine by Superintendent of Schools F. H. B. Heald and High School Principal Elwood G. Bessey, covering the 1924–25 school year. The report addresses urgent facilities problems including severe overcrowding at the Oak Hill school building and the deteriorated, unsafe condition of the Blue Point school. Topics covered include academic achievement, health inspections conducted across thirteen schools by nurse Miss Mary G. Price and Dr. Wentworth, student extracurricular achievements in club work, athletic programs, school statistics for all thirteen Scarborough schools, a teacher roster with training and experience, and a detailed financial statement. Scarborough High School maintained its placement on the approved list of the New England College Entrance Certificate Board, with twelve graduates enrolled in colleges and universities.
