Comprised of representatives from the three states and two provinces bordering the Gulf of Maine, the council was formed in 1989 with a mission of cross border collaboration to maintain and enhance the environmental quality in the Gulf of Maine to allow for sustainable resource use by existing and future generations.
This digital archive was established by the Maine State Library to include a selection of historical publications related to the council's work. The collection below is far from complete and will grow as time and resources permit.
