Description
Set at the outlet of Clary Lake in Whitefield Maine in the 1950's, the 4 story building is the remarkable Clary water mill . Built by Henry Clary in the early 1900's. This film by the mill owner Chet Chase shows the process of putting sawlogs into the mill pond in preparation for sawing. There is also a view of the dam that regulates the water into the lower pond. The mill stream emptied into the Sheepscot River. On this site there were mills dating back into the 18th century.
