Description
Letter from Joshua L. Chamberlain to Governor Abner Coburn in which he discusses regimental promotions, other regimental matters, and the mutineers transferred from the 2nd Maine Volunteer Infantry Regiment to the 20th Maine.
"You are aware, Governor, that promises were made to induce these men to enlist, which are not now kept, & I must say that I sympathize with them in their view of the case."
