Description

Maine Running began publication in Bangor, Maine, in February 1980, when Bob Booker, Skip Howard, and Bob’s brother Bruce Booker hand collated the first issue at the Phidippides Running Center in Bangor. It was later published in East Holden, Maine. The magazine was renamed Maine Running & Outing Magazine in January 1985, to better reflect its efforts to cover all outdoor aerobic sport in Maine. In May 1987, publisher Bob Booker announced that Chuck Morris and Steve Giles would take over the magazine in July of that year. Publication of Maine Running & Outing Magazine ceased with Volume 10 Number 12, a double issue dated December 1989/January 1990.
