Description
Resolve that "secret oath bound political associations are hostile to a republican form of government, destructive of the rights of minorities, and the independence of the citizen, corruptive of the purity of the ballot box, and become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious and unprincipled men are enabled to subvert the power of the people, and usurp for themselves the reins of government."
