Description
Undated petition from the citizens of Brewer and Bangor to Governor Israel Washburn, Jr. requesting the appointment of Cyrus A. Washburn to lieutenant in the Hamlin Flying Battery under Captain James Swett. Cyrus Washburn served as a gunner in the 2nd Maine Regiment, Company C, and the citizens requested his transfer out of the 2nd Regiment.
