Description
Fragment of letter describing Chamberlain's Gettysburg battle recollections after the war. Letter likely written circa 1882 to Reverend Theodore Gerrish, who published "Army Life" regarding the exploits of the 20th Maine Regiment. Chamberlain corrects Gerrish's impressions regarding Chamberlain's order to "fix bayonets" in the charge at Little Round Top.
