Description
A shipping receipt from the Blue Hill, Maine schooner Ariele. The Ariele was sailing from Blue Hill to New York on September 4, 1860, with a cargo of 106 blocks, bound for Fort Richmond, to be accepted by M. D. McAlister. Plain paper, printed form with logo of M. Hale, bookseller, Main St., Ellsworth, and details handwritten in black ink on front side, and handwritten note on back side stating, "Bill of Lading, Schooner Ariele, To Fort Richmond, Sept. 4, 1860."
