Description
Register of patients admitted to the Maine Insane Hospital 1887-1902.
Indicates patient number, patient name, residence, occupation at time of admission, and date of admission. Also records, gender, marital status, age, the age at time of onset of symptoms, number of previous admissions, and whether "hereditary, periodical, homicidal, or suicidal." Notes religion, skin color, common psychiatric conditions, whether committed by the town, court, state, and if supported by friends. Date of discharge (recovered, improved, unimproved, or died), cause of death, time in the hospital, and staff remarks.
