Description
Letter written to sister Rosie E. True from Beaufort, South Carolina, July 1862. Discusses Leander Martin who fell asleep in the sun and died from heat stroke. Describes Beaufort as "grand place with a great many large and splendid buildings...the streets are lined and the dwellings are surrounded with large magnificent shade trees."
