The Maine Bureau of Marine Science comprises three divisions: The Biological Monitoring and Assessment Division is responsible for the collection of information and long-term monitoring programs on commercial marine resources and their fisheries; The Division of Sea-Run Fisheries and Habitat protect, conserve, restore, and manage diadromous fish populations and conduct and coordinate projects involving research, planning, management, restoration or propagation of diadromous fishes; and the third division, Marine Education.
