Description

Historical Photographs taken by the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Group of photos identified as "WMAS Swan Island ". Photo identified as "Fast knot is tied in the Haynesville, ME woods by game biologist Francis Dunn of Patten. With the help of two game wardens, Dunn managed to lasso the cow moose and finally got a halter on her head. "Henrietta" was found by game warden Leland Campbell of Haynesville. The animal was showing early signs of "moose sickness," a disease which mystified veternarians and game authorities. The moose is being examined by the University of Maine.".
