The Bureau of Human Resources within the Maine Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) provides leadership in human resource management for the agencies and departments within the Executive Branch of state government. In addition to administering Civil Service Law and merit system principles, the Bureau is responsible for establishing and maintaining job classification specifications, staff training and organizational development, recruitment, and administering employee benefits including employee Safety and Wellness, and the state employee Worker's Compensation Program.
