Two of Rangeley's best-known citizens are shown receiving honorary memberships to the Squire Rangeley Club. Everett Greaton (far left) from the Maine Development Commission stands with Herbert Welch (second from left) and Mabel Burns Thomas (second from right.) Welch's certificate notes "his pre-eminet contributions to the universal art of fly fishing and more than a half a century of distinguished service in promoting the State of Maine." Thomas' certificate notes her recognition as a "distinguished hostess and resort hotel operator for her outstanding contributions to the promotion of the Rangeley Lakes Region and the State of Maine for over half a century." Man on the far right is Shelton C. Noyes.
